Where there is a will, there is a way.
yep. i'm going to give them the cement mixing tub today once the ice melts a tad.

Well its 32F with rain, sleet, snow coming. Winter storm warning. THe roads were very crapy this morning as I had to have the DH back to the VA 60 miles away for PTSD Track by 10:30. It took us 1 hour and 45 minutes to get there. Not fun as they haven't plowed the slush or even put down some sand or salt down either.

Made it back home and now gonna go finish my morning chores and let the ducks have a much needed bath.

Sounds like a heat wave today T..

Woo hoo. Ember laid her 2nd egg today. It has very little blood on it and it is much bigger.... 151 grams compared to 136 grams. Spirit (who is doing great) and Ember are building a nest out of blankets and acting very sweet with each other.

Ok, so due to illness, I've been a little slow getting the geese seperated. Until today.

I got home with Julia from school, and a goose was make an obscene amount of noise. Julia stares at them, and asks me "mom, what is that african doing to the toulouse????" Uh HUH, they were in the kiddie pool doing the mad dance of love. We seperated everyone by breed w/i 30 minutes. Glad I only have a dozen, it would have been much harder to seperate more. The good news is I'm sure one of the remaining toulouse is a female. I think I'm going to have buff knobbed toulousricans.

Marty, that's funny!! Very cool you got your geese separated! Hubby and I are seriously dragging our butts in getting it done here.

Hello Everyone!!

Well the ducks got a much needed bath. It was very funny to watch them as they came out dripping wet and soggy. I am hoping that we get warm day's every now and then so they can have some more. I noticed that many of them are molting as well. I think they might be telling me that spring isn't to far away. I a wishing this to be so then I can get the ducks outisde and the geese can have thier very own pasture pen too. Come March I plan on incubating lots of duck eggs in hopes for the freezer and being able to sell more eating eggs too. I might be in the market for some cascades as I here they are egg laying machines. Does anyone have them that can confirm this?

I don't know what cascades are, so I can't help you, sorry. But I look forward to doing hatchalongs with you this spring.

I plan on letting the ducks have another bath today. Plus I will let a pair of geese out for a bath too. Everyone is gonna be supper happy today.
