Enjoy the heat wave, because you know it won't last for long! We had a teaser heat wave here a few days ago. We even got to mid 40s in afternoon. Unfortunately, we are back to snow conditions this week, but at least not dropping below teens at night.

My Africans are in heavy breeding mode and I expect they will start laying soon. As soon as I see eggs, I will pen "my breeders" up to gather eggs easily to send you some. JenC (the African shower/breeder in Cali who adopted two white pairs from me) and I are going to be experimenting with breeding brown/white crosses, and I imagine she can also send you eggs as she has a large gaggle.

I have a sebbie female that has been laying since the end of November and I keep taking them away and disposing of them. It is just to weird of weather to let her try to set. All we have to do on our pens now is put small doors to seperate the geese. Some of my ganders have been breeeding with females I do not want them with. So eggs will have to be tossed from those layings......

Thanks J, right now I have 6 goose eggs that anyone can have just pay for the shipping. I have not tested for fertility as to why no price.

Yesterday it was 76 degrees here. It was wonderful! (I'm sure that's what inspired the geese)

Today, cooler and cooler, and tonight snow accumulation. It's only getting to 28 degrees, so I left the geese out. We're working on building for them, but with DH now suffering from my miserable cold, that'll be delayed.

That was a record high for us too. We do see the 60s in january sometimes, but not for more than a few days tops. It's ususally 20-45 degrees right now. I expect to see it again in March maybe. But, still sporatic until it bypasses it in May and we start seeing 90-110.

Yesterday was wonderful!!!!!! Today has been much needed rain all day... they are calling for snow tonight.

Ugg. Well I'm not jealous of 90 - 110 in May. That's about when we might start seeing temps in the 70s!

Don't be jealous! LOL Our springs and falls are a breeze blowing by on the way from dang hot to dang cold and back. And, the wind blows every single day almost, and 70 mph winds are just par for this course. How lucky you are to get real snow. We seldom get 4" once in a winter. I remember in the 1970s getting like 17 inches once, and I was 5 and it was amazing! Me and the older sibs all built tremendous snow forts, staged snow wars, and generally enjoyed the crap out of it for a few days, then back to normal weather and wet and mucky everywhere.

Good morning everyone, It is 13F and will be dropping to 3F through out the day. Tonite -20 with windchilles of -40, tommarrow high of -10 with windchilles of -40 then Friday a warm up to 15F. The count down is now on starting tommarrow. Roughly 60 more day's of this crappy weather then SPRING!!!!! Whew we are on the home stretch to warmer weather. March will be my big Hatch month to coinside with the green grass. Although we usually dont get real green until May.

I can remember when I was 7 on the 4th of July playing in the snow in the swiss alps in Germany. We had a complete blast throwing snpwballs in shorts. Although the whindy roads made me sick all the way up and down. But wonderful memories!!!
