Spirit continues to gimp along, proud as ever. I put a trio of young dewlap babies in his yard last week and he adopted them right away. It is so precious to watch them together. Note the 3rd baby in the 2nd picture is nestled in to the left of Hitch (broody mom) in the shadow.

I am shocked, dumbfounded and devastated. Ember, Spirit's faithful companion from day one, passed away this morning of reproductive issues.

She is now at the local crematory and her remains will be returned in a few days (in an engraved box), so that she may join my ever growing collection of beloved deceased pets in our home. RIP precious girl.
