Scott just left. He said the frostbite is not the problem, but the bumblefoot we thought we had fixed is actually worse. Since it is in the center of foot, he told me to make a donut hole and wrap foot. That should give him enough relief to walk again in his room. We also talked about cutting it out, but lacked the proper pain blocker and tools to get it done tonight. Depending on how Spirit does with the donut wrapping job, we will see if we will cut the bumblefoot out in the near future.

Napoleon did well with the ebson salt soak and neosporin... would that help any or is it too chancy for Spirt?

Scott was surprised at how hard the mass had gotten since he saw him last month. He said the skin is dead and verified by sticking a needle into mass and got no reaction from Spirit and very little bleeding. He really thinks we will most likely have to cut it out, but he wants to see how Spirit does with the wrap before trying topical treatments.

Unfortunately, the wrap with donut did not appear to give Spirit any relief. So now we are talking about doing surgery on Wednesday morning, which is the soonest Scott can make time to do it.

J, I am so sorry that Spirit having such a hard time with his foot. I have been battling bumble foot on my Spicie. It gets so hard and keeps building more onto it. It was split when I first started on it and I pulled a piece of it off the foot. Then later after treating it for a week there was another piece and I pulled that one off too. I treated his foot for two weeks with that clear vet spray and the bag balm to help soften it.
But that bumble foot gets really hard and is super hard to treat. Right now Spicie is walking better but have not treated it for a bit to see how it comes along. It is so hard.... Hoping the snow will help it get loose and I can get more off the foot.

Let us know how he cut the bumble foot off and what he did to it.

I sure hope this surgery will give him the relief he needs so when the weather gets better he can be back outside being a normal goose again. Bless his heart he sure does deserve it.
