Out of curiosity, when you break Moonshine, how long does it last?

Well after her 2nd night in broody jail, I let her out, and she seemed okay at first, but by 11 a.m. she went back to nest. So she's back in the basement. Last night, we went down there too because there was a tornado warning! The sirens were blaring, the rain was torrential, with hail...I moved her cage away from the window. We had the lights and radio on. She took it all in stride. There was actually no damage here, so all's well....
Anyway, Beldar seemed respectful to her this morning. She got in a tiff w top hen, sparring a bit, and Beldar just watched.

Yep... just leave it.

It shouldn't cause any trouble.... the main nail is straighter than it should be though...so might not get worn down properly....

So watch it, you might need to trim it a bit now and again...

Poof Poof is going tail-less today.

At least the Spitzes don't lose everything all at once. I've got exploding chickens with piles of feathers everywhere. When I call my orps, they come running across the yard and a trail of feathers falls off behind them.

Yep... my Spitz cock is tailless at present... sure looks silly.

But I am feeding them all higher protein feed at present...hoping they feather in fast.... or at least grow strong feathers.

Same here. Spitzies are "classy" molters. Feather here, feathers there. Orps just explode.

I know @homeschoolin momma had one. I think she was a pretty good broody hen.
