Spitzhaubens

okay yeah, hers looked like that. Does it take a few times for their vents to stretch out and look like layers? My CP still looks like a non layer and that darn spitz is so fast that I have to ambush her tonight and check.

I got them from Hoover hatchery. She looks exactly like a pure hen, but her and my calico are the only pullets in this coop and I got 2 brown pullet eggs yesterday.
Do you have adult hens in this coop too? Sometimes an adult hen will lay smaller than usual eggs. If she has a glitch in her system, that could account for eggs coming closer together, i.e., more than one in a day. And also account for why they are smaller than normal.

I think 14 weeks old is awfully young to start getting pullet eggs.

I know 14 weeks is youbg. I wasn't expecting eggsfor at least another 4 weeks for the CP and longer for the spitz. The only problem I see with the older hen Idea is that the only brown egg layer I have has incredibly brittle shells and these eggs have super nice, thick shells. I feel like of she was laying her egg and these ones that all would be brittle

Well, if she has a glitch and makes a smaller egg, then there is less surface area for her limited amount of calcium to cover. So the smaller eggs will have thicker shells.
For the same reason, the smaller eggs might be a darker brown. When there is a glitch, everything will be abnormal, color, shape, size, frequency etc.

If i feel tiny little bumps back in the legs of my seven weeks spitz, it’s that a sign of a roo?
Look for wattles. Get the chicken to look upwards, and you may glimpse them. All of mine I could tell by 7-8 weeks by the wattles. It won't be long!

8 weeks old, I'm sure she's a pullet.
