It looks like ive found a home for all of my easter cockerels. Im just giving them away as I have too many boys. I have also decided to part with Jack. (Jakes son) There are 2 very nice looking boys with nice tight forward crests that came from mamas brood. It was a very difficult decision. Someone is looking to come take them all for herself and her friends that want to add variety to their flock.

Unfortunately something happened yesterday to these same two boys face. It got all scraped up. This little guy got to come in for the cleaning and. Little neosporin. He was a good sport about it even though i know it hurt. I got some good snuggles after.

Poor little guy. Even with the blood I can see that he'll be a handsome cockerel.

I love your spitz's nice crest. My crests are all over the place.
The other Spitz pullet that I kept, Margarita, has a very wild asymmetrical crest-- it actually obstructs her vision, especially on one side....but she's so friendly, quirky, and sweet that I love her to pieces. It's hard to believe she and the one w the proper crest are sisters. Margarita will not be used to breed Spitzhaubens, but perhaps to breed more Sprights, to add some crest fullness. ( :

I can really see both Sebright and Spitzhauben in the Sprite.
The Sprights do look a lot like Sebright mom, but now they are getting tall and lanky. They have both spangles and lacing. Rose combs. And very cute little crests

Would anyone be willing to sex my Spitzhauben? I’m thinking it’s 4-5 weeks old. If you see the color purple it is just because the others were picking his/her back. Thanks!

Around 7 weeks, you will begin to see wattles developing in the boys. Get them to look upwards, and you may glimpse emerging wattles. By 8-9 weeks, you should know for sure. Keep us updated with new pics!
