Spitzhaubens

What color?
silver spangled
Here's DS with his 1st Spitz which he named Poof Poof. Both are much older now.

I should also add that Poof Poof is our only Spitz. She's a spoiled bird and knows she gets preferential treatment from my son. (Why bother scratching with the flock when my son will hand feed her?) He's been wanting more "Poof"s for a while. Since his 4-H project involves hatching, he asked for some Spitzhauben eggs.

He's gorgeous! Where are they from?
This guy and gal I got last year from cackle. My only other female came from @Faraday40 and she got hers from a friend who stopped by a breeder somewhere.

Cackle is doing a good job of trying to breed to sop. I like their crests and the spangled they are producing. My other female is way too dark. I'm getting 10 more spitz from cackle next week. I took huge losses last year on my females and most of my babies I produced were male so I am trying to rebuild.

Mine are from Cackle too. Their crests are good, but mines spangling isn't the best and both cocks have lacing. That must have been a bad year, everyone else's from Cackle seem to be much better. I got gold this year, and they are supposed to be better. They're such great birds!
