I love your picture.

So these are my gorgeous girls by the grace of God we only have one now and she's is currently recovering from a hawk attack on Monday which may leave her permanently blind my other one egg McMuffin passed away two days before Thanksgiving. The picture in the day is Hawk and the picture at night is my angel egg McMuffin

Where did you get yours from?

I found something similar on a Silver Spangled Spitzhauben from Cackle Hatchery, some years ago.

I found something similar on a Silver Spangled Spitzhauben from Cackle Hatchery, some years ago.

They are from Cackle. I have all three colors from them and by far the Chamois are their best quality.

I had a similar issue with Spitz chick - indirectly from Cackle. She was otherwise healthy. I've also had a few Spitz hens with very large spurs.

My Spitzhauben and Phoenix hens all have spurs.

I may stray from Spitzhaubens to Sanjak Longcrowers so I don't have to worry about color separation.

We will see. Just trying to cut down on flock size and number of pens needed.

With my Easter hatch coming soon, I've been hoping for a broody to adopt. A very unlikely candidate started hanging out in the nest box for a few days and is now grumbling at me.

It's my golden Spitzhauben, Sprinkles. A very unlikely broody breed - unless they live at @homeschoolin momma 's house. My 1st and 3rd Spitzies never went broody. My 2nd tried it ONCE, did fine, but never considered it again. I wonder what kind of mother she will be.
