Got this little lady born Tuesday, and noticed today she was sleeping with her legs out, splayed. She was getting around to get food and water, but I but a brace on her. Now she won't get up and walk anymore! How do I convince her to walk around?
First picture is when she was laying down. Sorry it's bad quality. It's a screen shot from a video. Second is her chilling in her isolation box with the brace on....

Sorry, second pictured didn't attach to the post... Here she is with brace on, and a cap of water with Vit B1 just in case... :p

Welcome to BYC.

I wonder if the hobbles are too narrow?

I've only had one case of splayed leg and that chick couldn't scoot around at all without the brace but managed to limp along in the hobbles well enough to get to the heat, the foot, and the water (all put closer together than usual for his convenience).

She HATES me today... But I put little cardboard shoes on and she is able to walk a little better and more consistently. She pecked at them and cheeped for about 20 minutes after I put them on... I was scared I'd done something wrong... But she seems to be okay now...
How long will she need these for? I feel bad that she is all alone... My oldest son and I are giving her a lot of extra love, but she needs to be with her clutchmates! 😜

A few days to a week most likely.

Why not bring one of her clutchmates in to be with her so she won't be so lonely?

She was running all over her little isolation enclosure this morning! I decided to put her in with the younger babies, since I have some that are a week old and some that are 3 days old. She is doing great in there! 😀

Make sure to change her shoe every couple days. Her little bones are growing VERY fast.
Thank you! I'll watch her feet closely! She still has a baindaid splint on her legs, so we are watching for that to cause issues or need replaced as well...
