Splayed leg vs rolled tendon or something else?

I have a two day old chick that had a prolonged hatch (pipped incubation day 20 and got stuck, I assisted about 48 hours later) and since hatch has had leg issues. She has curled toes and both legs are splayed, and possibly 1 is a pulled tendon. She doesn’t really stand upright, is resting on her hocks with her beak on the ground. When I roll the left leg I think I can feel the tendon pop in and out of place.

Today I tried to tape the feet to fix the toes and put on hobbles. Does she need a chick chair? If so, could I keep her in it in the brooder (there’s only 1 other chick, and he peeps like crazy if I take her out). Is she in pain? She’s constantly peeping loudly unless asleep.

She will drink water if I hold it up to her but I don’t think she’s eaten. Her crop feels empty. I’ve been giving her electrolyte solution and b vitamins dissolved in water. Would it be helpful to make a mash out of the chick crumbles with hot water? Is there any hope for this chick?

Thank you.

Here are some chick chair pictures that are easily made form cups or oatmeal boxes. They have little cups for food and water glued on. Can you post a pic of your leg hobbles?

I did the hobbles and feet with masking tape.

Ate a teeny bit of mash, was looking a bit better when I went to replace the water before bed. We’ll see if she makes it through the night. If so, I’ll make a chick chair tomorrow.

What vitamin product are you using? The chick really needs riboflavin or B2, since the toes are curled under. Poultry NutriDrench is one that does not contain riboflavin. Here is a pic of a chick with a shoe and a leg hobble:

She’s looking better today, standing a bit more upright! I found some material for a chick chair, I just need a container now. Should her feet be touching the bottom or no?

It’s a B vitamin complex, it does contain riboflavin. I wasn’t able to get any Nutridrench as they don’t carry it at my feed store.
