Just received this duckling from Metzer Farms, and not sure what’s wrong with her legs. Thinking maybe splayed legs? Her feet seem larger than the other ducklings feet. Just hoping someone has some input. Thank you!

Here is some info on leg problems. How is the duckling walking? With splay legs the legs go too far out to the side so they can’t stand and walk properly.
She is able to walk okay in the shavings, but she has trouble keeping her balance and it seems as though she doesn’t hold her head high, instead seems to rest it on her chest. When she sits, she seems to sit down on her butt as you can see in that picture, but her feet are still showing. When we put her in the linoleum her feet slide out to the sides, so not sure if it’s a mild case or if this is normal for a duckling. Our other baby didn’t have this issue when we got her. So we don’t want to let the situation go and it get worse. Wr added some liquid B complex to their water, and we have brewers yeast in their food.

You need to make sure the duckling get full dose of the liquid BComplex put it over a small treat so she gets full dose putting it in water dilutes it too much. Keep her off slick surfaces until the problem is corrected. Towels, rubber shelf liner are two good things to use. Also if you have poultry cell that can go into the water just to help give the little one a boost.

I’d def get poultry cell and give it by mouth a few drops at a time right inside the bill making sure she swallows each time. Since she’s not holding her head normally.
Okay! Thank you so much, we will give them her breakfast blend and add the b complex on top. We do have hydro hen added to their water. Is poultry cell the same at the Durvet vitamins and minerals that you can add to water? We have that as well that we give to our adult pekin.

It’s not the same but try it also along with the liquid BComplex. Does the vitamins have selenium and vit E two very important ones for neck problems like wry neck. Or try giving her a scrambled egg chopped up real good. Make sure to offer a small bowl of chick grit when feeding anything other than starter.

Here is the vitamins in the Durvet add in for the water. Okay sounds good. We will add the vitamin b complex to a small treat and add chick grit on the side. If we need the poultry cell, can that be added to the water? Or should it be given orally?
