Thanks so much to those of you who wrote with encouragement about my previous post. I have just spoken to Stephanie from My Pet Chicken about my order. She was so kind and helpful. Apparently they had a major incubator malfunction this week which affected many of their orders. They had sent me an email regarding this on Tuesday which I didn't receive for some reason, but she just forwarded it to me again and it was indeed dated on Tuesday. So they truly did their best to communicate with me, their customer. Luckily, we were able to substitute a few breeds and I should have my babies by next Wednesday. I am very happy with the customer service I received. Stephanie seemed sincerely apologetic and sorry I hadn't received her email 2 days ago. She thanked me for calling in and did her best to make sure we will get chicks next week. She instructed me to call her by Wednesday morning if I hadn't received them and she'll track them down. So.................I spoke too soon before. I think you all understand how anxious you get waiting for your new chickens to arrive. Especially when you've been waiting for a month and have 2 little boys asking every day if the chicks are coming today. I just wanted to make sure to write and tell you all that I was really happy with my service once I got through to MPC. I'll be sure to post next week to let you know about my order when it arrives.

Hmmm, I don't understand the incubator malfunction since MPC is a middleman and gets their chicks from elsewhere (Meyer's Hatchery, I think). Maybe they are now hatching their own?

Their Hatchery is located in Ohio. Is that where Meyer's is? Only reason I think of going with MPC is so I can place a small order of five birds.

Well I am glad that you were able to talk to them and feel better about your chicks now. Maybe when MPC said 'they' had an incubator malfunction it was just easier than saying 'our supplier' has an incubator malfunction. Best of luck with your chicks next week! We want pictures!

I'm not sure about where the chicks were hatched, but it sounded like they were not able to get the silver laced wyandottes this week or the Australorps due to the incubator problem.

Please be sure to read all of this post. My Pet Chicken has been great to work with regarding my order. I am sorry for any confusion I have caused here on the forum about their company.
