Sprain or dislocated hip?

If you could get a picture of his legs from the front or back that might be helpful. Also look along his leg for any green bruises, redness, or swelling of the foot or knee. I would keep him safe in a dog crate with food and water. B complex tablet 1/2 tablet daily crushed into his food or a little water may help. It could take a few weeks for his leg to heal. But don’t let another rooster near him.

I've felt his leg it really doesn't feel any different than the other one. His legs are dark gray so I'm not sure how easy it would be to see any bruises but I'll keep an eye on it. I've got liquid vitamin b complex if that would be as good as tablets? We've got 2 coops that lead to 1 run. He's in a bigger size cat carrier at night but no room for food and water so I let him out into the coop during the day when everyone goes out. I'll get some pictures of his leg on all sides and post

Ok here are some pics of the hurt leg. He keeps his good leg up but the hurt leg just hangs even though he can pick it up when he hops around. ( like when he's trying to get away when I put him in his cat carrier for the night)

Did your beautiful boy heal up ok?
Unfortunately no😔 he got worse and worse. I think he went into shock. He stopped eating so i syringe fed him a mash feed and electrolytes in his water but it didnt make a difference. I decided to cull him because he just laid there with his eyes closed.😔

I’m so sorry. 😢 I’m not feeling too hopeful for mine with your news. We try so hard with these chickens!

I’m not sure how he got hurt. He just holds his leg up and hops around if he hast to move. Mostly he just lays around lethargic, head nearly on the ground, with the hens all surrounding him. He is a well loved rooster and i believe my girls will miss him immensely. I can’t feel any breaks. The leg doesn’t hang funny like dislocation. He doesn’t flinch when I wriggle the leg. He can curl his toes.

Yep that's exactly what my Rupert did. I'd say if you have an avian vet you can go to then take him. I know they can be hard to find and sometimes a bit costly but if you can then that's what I would do. I can never watch any of my animals suffer or be in pain. Good luck with him❤️
