Spring 2017 first timers post!

How about 8x12 or 10x12 on coop, less waste on wood cuts since most wood are already to size. Plus windows and doors and perches & nesting boxes, those few feet will play a big part, you can use some of those for little storage for food proximity instead of outside storage. Roof height will play a big advantage too on temps of inside of coop and easy access, I did 10' ht on mine.

I hear ya, and I thought about it a lot. I am using all the room I can, and its an uneven number which will cause some wood waste but the other option was go smaller. It will be pretty high at the peak. The plan I posted was pretty much to scale, it shows 8x10 coop which will be closer to 8x11 and the run 6x12 which will be closer to 7 x 13 I think. The foundation getting done this weekend so the size will be determined by Sunday!

I originally planned to order 6 but, when I was adding them to my shopping cart I threw one more in. (Just in case :D)
Buff Orpington, Speckled Sussex, Australorp, Colombian Wyandotte, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Gold laced Wyandotte and Barred Rock

I hoping this is a good starting point.

Ooh, I love your choices, those are all beautiful ladies!

Not a newbie, but expecting my 16 new chicks next month January 18th, 2017 excited to see new batch from Meyer - first time order. New to salmon faverolles & welsummers. Still debating wether to drive & pick them up 2 hours away or have it mailed.

Forgive the dumb newbie question but what is the NPIP certificate and why is it important?

Thanks

Gary from Idyllwild Ca here
