New baby chicks are fun. I have quail eggs in the incubator right now due in about 5 days. Those chicks are so cute....

I haven't heard anymore about the blocks. I'm still waiting on blocks from Writer of Words and Roccomanchickens. I have less than 3 weeks to get them sorted and mailed so Writer and her class can get theirs before school ends. I love looking at them and can't wait to get them to all of you so you can enjoy also.

I've been looking at yarn also to see what brands have the jewel colors. I'm limited here so if I don't buy at Joann's I'll order on line.

The main reason for doing the limited choice colors and brand is so that folks can just order on-line making it easier for us all to get the yarns. Without a prechosen pallette it is impossible to order on-line since monitors do not show the colors very well. I've had a couple of mishaps with yarn orders. Let me know if you find something you like Betty. My Joanns has a limited selection compared to some. Speaking of yarn I better get off BYC so I can get my errands done one of which is a stop at Joanns.

Oh and I agree! We need pics of the new babies!!!

Canesisters-Thank you for the baby pictures. They are wonderfully cute.

Writer-Look forward to seeing yours. Didn't another of your hens surprize you recently?

Cheers.

Betty~ Glad the squares are all finding your way safely. Oh I know it's so much fun looking at all of them. I felt like it was X-mas or my B-day almost every day when I hosted. Good luck on the quail hatch. Oh I can't wait to see those tiny little babies. So cute!

Canesisters~ Oh THANK YOU for the adorable baby pics.

Congratulations on your first peeps. You are going to have so much fun.

Kate~ Can't wait to see the peeps your sneaky hen hid from you. How funny!!!!

Kat~ Thanks for the link to your gorgeous flower square.

Sunny~ Can't wait to see the color and brand of yarn you chose for the next swap. Doing the swap that way sure will make it uniform on matching shades. No hurry to get started as I always have other projects to finish and I am sooooooo slow at finishing them.

I have 2 broody girls, but keep taking their eggs. One is a blue Ameraucana that has spent the majority of her life broody. It started when she was only 9 months old and goes on & on...Every yr!!!! The other is a hatchery 1 yr old Cuckoo Maran. She just went broody last week and is very, very snippy.

My babies are growing like weeds, stinking up the house and making a nice dust mess, but they are so cute. I'm glad to get get nicer weather to kick them outside to stretch their wings to play in the tractor. I'll post a pic when I get a chance.

I'm working on DD's afghan when I get a chance. I went over board on the width since it's cotton and was afraid it would shrink. Hopefully she will remember to wash it in cold water when she's away at college if she wants to stay as big as it is. Oh my... it's so big. I might have to change the width to the length. LOL!!!

I love the baby chick pictures, especially the one with Rosemary in it checking out the baby's. My friend that keeps her chickens at my place had two roosters that decided to fight yesterday and luckily I was able to get in the pen and grab the one rooster that was taking a beating. He's alive but injured either in his leg or hip but Mary came and got him this afternoon and she took him home with her so she can take care of him. I hope she doesn't have to put him down because he is a gorgeous Turken. I have a silkie I think is going broody. I moved her today to a private pen and hope she sits the eggs. Will check on her tomorrow and see.

I'm waiting on one more box. Kate's are on the way and then it will be fun time. I'm sure you will all enjoy your squares as the ones that I've seen so far are just lovely. I finished the last two geckos that I had to applique on my 3 year old grandsons quilt I'm making and started cutting out the rest of the fabric according to the pattern. The quilt pattern is one of Eleanor Burns quilts and instead of the 10" fussy cut centers I'm using 10" blocks with the geckos on them. The rest of the pattern is nine patch blocks and irish chains all done in green, tan and two shades of brown. I'll post a pix when I get the top done.

I would love to have the pattern of that red dahlia in the photo. Can someone send me the directions or how to get them? I guess that would be Kat. Well, goodnight everyone. A busy day tomorrow with a 76 mile to DH's eye doctor and a trip to Costco to get his hearing aid fixed. I'll try for Joann's also. It's a pain in the neck to get old. DH will be 75 next month and I'm not far behind.

Thank you!!! I thought it was so funny too how they were checking each other out through the tractor. I'm so sorry about your friend's rooster. I hope he recovers. Good luck w/ your broody silkie. I should just let one of these broody girls hatch some babies out from my own flock to satisfy them. I can't wait to see the quilt you are making for your grand son. That sounds adorable!!! Your kids and grandkids are so lucky to have all your beautiful hand made items.
