This is what I woke up to this morning. Check out the snow on my deck railing. Pretty sure the girls are in the coop, can't blame them. Thought I would put in a picture of the car too so that you may all share in my misery.....off to shovel...

No snow to speak of so far this winter.
But it's been a long hard season on me.

I need some spring in the worst way. I want to
stand in a fresh plowed garden, feel the sun, see
the trees go to green.

I want my world to be all right again.

Spook...it's been a long season.

It was mid 70's here earlier this week, daffodils are up, paperwhites are blooming and roses are pruned and putting out fresh growth.

Teasing a Spook isn't the Spook's ideal of fun.

Makes me mad...

It was a nice 12 degrees here this morning. But it DID warm
up. Almost made it all the way to 20 degrees. Why, I was almost
sweating!

But I know spring will be one day closer tomorrow. And I've got
a whole stack of garden magazines to droll over.

Spook...wanting to wear his summer-sheet again

Oh I'm so ready for spring! I've been pretty much hibernating this winter. What's to do when the girls stay cooped up all day? If it is too cold for them, it is surely too cold for me (I don't have a feathery coat to keep me warm!). I'm already making spring plans and it's still weeks off. I call this a bad case of cabin fever...

Despite not having any snow (yet) this year, I'm eying my empty flowerbeds as I walk past them. All empty and barren. So depressing this time of year.

Then a seed catalog arrives which is kinda funny because my flower seeds come from the dollar store. I've been wanting to plant a row of sunflowers in front of the barn this spring, but being the cheapskate I am, I'd probably plant what ever the dollar store had. Probably marigolds.

As I turned the pages, I grew envious. I knew most of these plants were beyond my ability. And I wasn't about to spend money on something I'd most likely over feed, drown, or think was a weed and rip it from the earth. So I continued to finger through the catalog until I come upon a packet of seed stapled securely in the center of catalog. I stared in surprise and was overjoyed.

A huge plate-sized sunflower was pictured on the packet. You'd a thought I found a two carat diamond.

Somebody is watching out for me and I think I like it.

This is kind of funny - my daughter would be ecstatic to see that! But then, snow doesn't happen here very often. The last time was in 2010

We've had some lovely warm weather, but now it's back to what we call Winter here. Today is really weird. Last night at dusk, the temp was below freezing. By the time we got up this morning, the temperature was up to 45 degrees. It has risen to around 50, but is now dropping again, and may be in the 30's when I pick the kids up from school. Crazy weather - but Spring is coming!
