I know what your talking about feral cats and dogs ... Every year I loose chickens to them and of course the dread fox. Mr Smart One. Just this week I Two pullets (POL) out of a enclosed pen. Wind must loosen the twine about 8 foot off the ground. Ferel cats did the deed. One I found where the ferels eat. One was just gone. 2 were very badly damaged. My salmon fava pullets head was all tore up, tongue was hanging out of her neck. Really gross. Have picture but they are gross. She was alive so I sewed her back together again. tongue inside mouth, waddles back up where they should be, chest and neck skin back to. She looks like a patch work But the good thing is she is eating and drinking back out in the pen. I really can't believe she lived though the patch job. Time will tell if she makes it without infection getting her.
Now while the fixing of the pen was going on I found a patch of skin and white spot black feathers it was about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide. the hen that color was in the pen I figured it must have been one of the neighbors hens. Later to discover it was my hen. There was nothing left to fix on her just doctor her and she still alive.
Makes you want to get a shotgun and blow them away. I am going to trap the ferals dogs and cats and haul them to the pound. there is 3 derel chihuahuas a renter next store That have to going. Wild as March hares and chicken killing son of guns They have to go.
Ok I have to close I have rant enough Boy I feel better Already work is waiting....

You probably just want ducklings, not ducks. Just watch a couple YouTube videos on how messy ducks are and your "desire" for ducklings will soon pass. That's what I do when I want a puppy; I watch videos of puppies eating sofas and how to's on Housebreaking. Works every time!

So I need to come up with something as big and that costs more to keep than one!

Talk to him about wanting to breed racehorses, you'll need a really good mare with amazing bloodlines. Then a just off the track stud. Maybe you could settle for a nice gentle gelding?

I was actually thinking about this already, but also wondering what people would think of me

and it may be useful on me -just in case, grr I hate lice

I used on my girls when they were in elementary school. The outbreak was so bad that they came home with lice 3 times in two months. I couldn't subject them to any more nerve poison. My brain remembered reading that people long time ago used ammonia to treat for lice and that ammonia was used in most hair dyes. One daughter didn't want to change her hair color and the other wanted to gain back some of the baby blonde that had darkened to brown. DD1 who didn't change her color went to school and no one even noticed anything except there were no nits in her hair. Had a littel more discussion about DD2 who slightly changed the color. They wanted to argue with me that it didn't work and that I must use the poison. I told them to get the school nurse to check and see if she could find any lice or nits. They couldn't and since it was not a wild color change or an unnatural color they had to accept it.

OMG!! i know exactly what you mean! I really dont like ducks too noisy and WAAAAY too messy! gross
