Well...looks like the silkie eggs I won will not be coming. The person I won them from blocked me and now I have no way to get a hold of them. Those scammers!!!

Man, trying to catch up...haven't felt well today at all..and then, My poor DH goes and almost cuts his finger off!  I'm serious, he did a number on his left hand index finger.  Second digit down, right in that place you bend your finger.  :/   I heard him say ouch..and then, oh no.  I knew he was in the kitchen getting something to eat, so I thought, I'm going to have to get a bandaid or something, took one look, went and got something bigger..and off we went for stitches.  Dr. wants him to come right back in .. in the morning to re asses it.  He couldn't bend it when he was asked to.   I hope he can by tomorrow.  It was so deep..and all across the finger.  Cutco steak knife.  He was trying to separate something frozen. 

Oh no!! Ouch!!!! I hope that it looks better tomorrow.

Update on my eggs! (Day 7 Candle). 17 Buff Orpington out of 21.
2 Cochin Bantam out of 3.
1 Barred Rock Bantam out of 2.
The ones I pulled out were clear so maybe they were just infertile! Didn't do an eggtopsy.

Update on what I'm 'batin' for the HAL,,my first. Batch one-My Maran look good so far, candled tonight and have Def movement in 4. Threw out 4, and rest (6) look good as far as I can tell..very dark eggs and they were shipped. Marilyn and Elvis had 4 out of 5 with Def movement and very strong little kickers. That's what I had for HAL....but.....bought another Styrofoam Bator for a "hatcher",,,,but...seems I couldn't resist the auction thing and so Friday I started 16 silkys, 12 chamois spitz, 8 legbars, 4 auto sexing ee., and 11 cemanis. Oh yeah, and 4 of my duck eggs just for fun...guess I'm gonna have to get another hatcher,,lol.

Nope, I wish! But you can diaper the feather butts & adjust when you feed/water them so if they're out & about with you they can stay drier.
