Here are my first ducklings of the year. Next batch has a bunch of eggs from my lilac girl, I am excited to see what colors I get. I got several blue in this hatch which makes me happy.

Good thing I went with the extra large brooder.

My cat tried to break into my incubator and brooder and yours is snuggling! What an awesome group. Love your duckies and your kitty!

Ugh. I'm so frustrated right now! Every single shipped egg that's made it to lock down has quit before even making the internal pip! What am I doing wrong?! I set more shipped eggs on April 1st but now I'm worried that those too won't make it!

Its a frustrating game, I play the same one. Finally gave up and bought a new incubator. We'll see if it goes any better with this one. I might officially put up my white flag if not.

Mine are incubating at 96.5-97. I've been weighing every few days, and I have 7 eggs that are right on track. 1 egg is loosing moisture weigh too fast, but I don't think its any good anyway. When I tap the eggs with my fingernail, I can hear a very distinct sound difference now. The egg I think is bad goes "tink", the others are more of a "thump".

Major wiggling, definitely not my eyes. I feel so much better now, I thought for sure I'd spend 55 days turning 5 times a day for nothing! C'mon little Emu!

Soo excited to hear this..can't wait, can't wait!

Do you mist your eggs one time a day from day 4 to lockdown?
Do you cool your eggs for 5 minutes a day from day 7 to day lockdown?

This kitty is our super snuggler, his nickname is Smooshy. I am sure he wouldn't mind eating one of them, but both of my cats know that they better not mess with one of my birds! When the power was out, I made my kitties keep my chicks warm, with supervision, of course.

Jeez, you would think if they made it that far then some of them would hatch. I am going to think positively for your new batch and imagine them just popping out of their eggs.

It will be a long 21 days!  But yes, to me too -  surprises are WAY more fun than knowing what you are going to get!!!

I,am soooooo excited to see what hatches out of the fun and funky eggs from my pet chicken.one is a big dark brown egg and one is small and cram colored

I am on lockdown too, good luck with your hatch!  I have 8 eggs in right now but a couple looked a little off so I don't think all of mine will hatch.  The air cells were too small in a couple of them & they looked really dark.  We'll see what happens; I hope I get a few at least.

Exciting. I love lockdown. It sounds so Serious.
