Well, I have found the secret to a long and happy marriage is not to annoy the person who cooks my food. You may remember the old Henny Youngman story about the woman who had three husbands: after just a short marriage her first husband died of mushroom poisoning. Then by the strangest coincidence her second husband died also of mushroom poisoning. The third husband died of blunt force trauma - turns out he wouldn't eat the mushrooms.

Odd as it may seem (a day to a day and a half early), I think I saw my first pip! Either that or I managed to break a hole in one of the eggs I have not noticed until now right at the edge of the air cell. I'm going to think it's a chick wanting to hatch. I have to go into town right now so I'll be back later to check on it. Hurray (maybe).

Odd as it may seem (a day to a day and a half early), I think I saw my first pip! Some are over achievers. I've had them hatch anywhere from day 19-22

I candled the other day and all 8 silkie eggs where clear. i suppose the last egg she laid before she went broody that I let her keep is clear also. So I have all english orp eggs still going good.

I wasn't going to set for this one, but I now have 4 eggs between 2 Broodies, so I'm in.
