Quote: No, I'm a very patient person.![]()
Ok, as I was running out the door for work (an hour ago now!!) there were 8 silkies out, 2 zipping, and one more pip.![]()
Better than my last hatch lol. And the only one i "helped" was one that had the shell stuck to it's back/butt, the membrane dried to it. Everyone else has been fine so far, no other issues like that! And my husband has his black silkie... One single black one so far LOL!

Ok. Yeah, the humidity has gotten pretty low a few times and I thought a couple of the air sacs looked more like a day 18 egg, so I just wanted some additional input. Thanks.I think the one in your hand looks good. Do you think they are getting to large?
Quote: Some of the others did look large, but I couldn't see very many.
Put the incubator into lock down yesterday. The four eggs I was concerned with kept on developing and caught up with the rest. I can't believe the change in just 3 1/2 days, they grow at such a fast rate. So I'm still at 26 eggs and the air cells look good. I've kept the humidity at 30 % - 35 % the first 18 days and upped it to 75 % when I locked down. Its held steady at 75 % all night and today. I looked in on them this afternoon and there is one early pip. I don't know if that's good or bad. I'll re- dampen the sponge before I go to work tonight just to make sure everything behaves overnight. I'll update again tomorrow.Hello all
Candled my remaining 26 eggs this morning day 14 1/2. For the most part they all looked good the air cells were right on target. I do have a slight question on four of them, but will let them remain until day 18 and reevaluate. I was very worried last night with extremely high winds here on the Maine coast. There was spotty power outages all over the county with tree limbs coming down, but my power never even flickered,so I lucked out this time. Lock down will be just a few days away now, will keep you posted.
Happy Hatching

Early pips are fine. If everything pips early the incubator is probably running a little hot, unless you are hatching a breed that tends to hatch early.
