"Springing in the Chicks" 2016 April Hatch-a-Long Hosted by Mike & Sally

Is it ok that I added more eggs yo my incubator? They will be due to hatch 3 days apart. I couldn't resist.
Not ideal, but can be done.

Feedman I have never hatched Turkeys but want to this year. I have been checking out the hatcheries and for sale ads for fertile turkey eggs for sale. Hoping to set some after my chickens hatch. Good Luck!!
Oh, hatch turkeys! I love the little poults,

I guess I could keep the turner in for just the younger eggs and hope there's a hatch on day 21(and no baby chicks hurt themselves on it) for the older set so I can take the younger eggs out of turner and put them in lockdown.

Or I could try to convince my hubby that we need another incubator...

Any suggestions?

Yes, convince your husband of the need of another incubator or you could build one to keep you busy during the next couple weeks.

You're basically on day 7, in chicken days.
18 days incubation, day 6 , one third
Chickens one third is 7

Everything is relative so thereabouts

Ok, so if I were to get a new incubator which one would you recommend ?

If I were to make one what design would you recommend?

I better say coolerbator!

Choosing an incubator

Many different styles of incubators are available, most common are Styrofoam types found at most feed stores. These incubators hold more eggs and are usually less expensive, but they require more involvement in the hatching process. Egg turners are usually optional that can be added for convenience. There are also some great “hands free” incubators, commercial incubators as well as Simple Inexpensive Homemade Incubators. We make “Coolerbators” they work 100% better than our store bought incubator because it has less than .5 degree variance and we have very successful hatches in it!
