Hey there! I'm Lona I live in Texas. And this is my first attempt at hatching! I got some local mixed eggs. The people don't know what there chickens are "umm red hen and a black rooster". I set them on March 23rd. Due to hatch April 13.candles last night 10/10 moving in every egg. I'm so eggcited. Then I have ordered some eggs to arrive the week of April 25th. I hope to have chick's over running the coop.

Hello, and welcome! I'm glad your candling went well. Local eggs are a good way to go, especially for your first attempt at hatching.

These are my first hatch! I am very pleased with how it went. The eye has opened with no issues it seems. The naval seems to be drying and healing.
Here are some of them. It is a Barred Rock Rooster with an Easter Egger, Welsummer, or Australorp hen. You can tell the Easter Eggers (not in these photos) as they look like black and white chipmunks.

Congratulations! Those are the cutest chicks yet!

So currently I have 41 eggs in my borrowed bator and daycare has 10, so in all 51 eggs

And the person from napa that gave me 24 of the eggs sent me link to watch-pretty neat
