And this is my first attempt at hatching! I got some local mixed eggs. The people don't know what there chickens are "umm red hen and a black rooster". I set them on March 23rd. Due to hatch April 13.candles last night 10/10 moving in every egg. I'm so eggcited. Then I have ordered some eggs to arrive the week of April 25th. I hope to have chick's over running the coop.

Congratulations! Those are the cutest chicks yet!A bakers dozen! I have 13 chicks from the 17 fertile eggs!!!
3 of the 5 Farmers Market hatched - set 18... interesting!
10 of 12 Microfarm Hatched - set 12
These are my first hatch! I am very pleased with how it went. The eye has opened with no issues it seems. The naval seems to be drying and healing.
Here are some of them. It is a Barred Rock Rooster with an Easter Egger, Welsummer, or Australorp hen. You can tell the Easter Eggers (not in these photos) as they look like black and white chipmunks.
