"Springing in the Chicks" 2016 April Hatch-a-Long Hosted by Mike & Sally

X's 2.  I was wondering what day.   Maybe the power will come on sooner.

The power came on a few minutes ago so it was only an hour but the temp reading said 91 degrees inside the bator. The eggs felt warm though when I just turned them. Going to bed and hope and pray for the best.

UGH. Guys, I am freaking. out. Help?

I moved my eggs (due on Sunday, today is Friday/D19) to the hatcher yesterday on Day 18. Increased humidity, laid down clean paper towels, everything.

Well, the paper towels wicked up water and the humidity shot up to 85%. The damp paper towels TOUCHED all the eggs.

I removed the paper towels and put some rice in the bottom of the incubator to try and absorb some humidity. The windows are fogged up. I have no pips, so I have wiped down the windows to reduce water surface area. It's still around 78% humidity though. I'm worried...

I keep my humidity around 75% to 85% and have never had an issue. I would be more worried about the wet towel touching the eggs. But really their probably fine. I would take out the rice and just let it be. Good luck!

Thanks for the reassurance. I hope they are okay

the paper towels were slightly damp but not soaked. It was damp all underneath all the eggs on their sides, which just sickens me. I usually use the paper towels to make clean up easier. Never had this happen before, will probably never use them again now...

Did you add an egg Turner of is that just eggs in cartons you have to turn? I have an Incuview also but not real happy with their auto Turner which involves a little shake ever 4 hrs or so.
Too many to fit in the turner tray. My turner usually works great. It's just that I set about 10 more eggs than the tray can hold, so into the cartons they go. On day ten, I'll pull all the clears and quitters, and then I'll be able to set them in the turner.
