Sorry about the two clears. As far as the brown eggs losing humidity faster than the others, there's nothing you can do short of putting them in a separate incubator with higher RH. When you incubate many eggs, especially mixed breeds, you have to base RH on the average. Some will lose faster, some will lose slower... it's the nature of the beast. From what I can see in the pic, the air cells look plenty big for day 14, so if you want to increase RH for the next 4 days, I don't see a problem.I candled my eggs last night for day 14 and I had 2 clears. Nothing going on inside. I think that the air cells look better except for the dark brown eggs. They seem to have lost a lot of moisture compared to the other eggs, should I do anything differently for them? (Day 14 eggs have two pencil ring marks on them)
I'm using this... 20 year old hand me down hovabator? Forced air incubator.
I had the temp holding really steady at first but since yesterday I had to turn the temp WAY down. Is this normal? Or just faulty / old equipment?
With the embryos reaching hatching age, their metabolism increases and they start creating their own bit of body heat. It shouldn't change that much, so equipment may be playing a role as well. As long as you keep it withing hatching range temps, all should be well. Best of luck with your hatch!!!
