Tomorrow is lockdown day! First time using the Brinsea Mini Advanced! I have 3 cream legbars in and 2 welsummer/cream legbar mixes :)

Good luck.

I just accidentally won an ebay auction for some d'anver bantam eggs

. I bid in the last 1 second to see if that would work (nobody else had bid yet so it was cheap)... and it did work

. It was an auction for 8+, also my mom and brother really want me to get some more call duck eggs (enablers!

) so I might get more of those... plus 10 out of 12 chocolate orpington/cream legbar mix eggs I got (shipped eggs) are developing, and it looks like 6 out of 7 of my silver/choc ameracauna eggs are developing too. There are also the 5 silver quail eggs developing and 6 eggs from my ducks in the incubator too

I have a problem

Accidents happen.

I don't see that you have a problem.

Quote: I like the incubators in the basement as the temp and humidity are steady year round. They are also out of the way from playing dogs.

I'm glad you have developing.

OMG! Just got back from taking the goat kids to vet for disbudding and.......
There was a baby Serama waiting for me!!!!!!!!!!!! Lots more pips! I am so excited!

What kind of goats?

So far 11 have hatched, but then one of my few day old D'uccle died, trapped itself between the heating pad and hardware cloth "cave"... down to 2 d'uccles and 1 d'anvers from original hatch.

Poor Speedy, unless a lot of D'Anvers and Silkies are females, he's going to be forever lonely...

Candled my eggs tonight. (Day 9 for all my wellsummer, amurucanas, deleware, olive eggers, and morans and day 6 for my silkies). Looks like 11 of 53 may be clear on the mix and then 11 of 18 silkies look clear.) The silkies are killing me with clears, but it is what it is. Most of the colored eggs were hard o candle. Some I could see veining, but most I determined were not clear bc I could see abnormal "blobs/shadows" in the egg vs mostly clear round yoke.

On another note, my few day old silkies are in the brooder with a heat pad hut. I really hope they are staying warm enough. They spend a lot of time huddled under it, but I have it at full blast and they seem ok. Anyone had issues with heat pad brooders not being warm enough?
Are hatching eggs from your own flocks?

Congratulations!

3 babies!

Ok, hatched 11, have one left pipped. 10 + 1 silkies, 1 d'uccle. the Plus 1 is for the pip we're waiting on still.

Wonderful!

So, I set a couple more quail eggs...20 is a couple, right?

The banty eggs are still looking well, down to 4 now. 2 due in a week & 2 the week after.
20 quail eggs would be a couple.

I had one EE hatch before bed and the 2nd one hatched shortly before I got up today.. Today is scheduled hatch day several eggs have external pips...
