Oh no, that is awful! Is it possible that it got stuck under the turner. They are tiny, so they could fall out and under. Any lost silkie is sad. :barnie

No egg turner, had 72 eggs in there so it was by hand. The only logical explanation I can come up with (and even then it doesn't seem possible to me) is that I somehow left it out and the dog ate it? I just don't get it bc I took them out and set them in an egg carton to number and candle. I checked the egg cartons and they were empty. Plus the dog didn't act one bit of guilty and the only time she was in that room was with my daughter and I. (Let me put it this way...dog has no poker face.) Two nights ago we were on a walk and it was dark and she picked up a chicken leg someone had tossed on the side of the road. I didn't notice but when we came in the house my son was like "why are libs ears back..is she ok?" I look down and see she is hiding something in her mouth. Darn dog gives herself away every time with her guilty conscience. Lol. I can tell she did something long before I can figure out what that something was.

Day 5 candling here for my overloaded Incuview. Out of 3 dozen set, I pulled 18 clears. 50% fertility from my cockerel. I guess he needs to work on his balance.

Sucks pulling clears. Sounds like you needed the room though

Morning to those that are up.
Good morning, Sir Chaos!

I'm getting ready to head out, but wanted to hop on the forum long enough to read the last few posts of my subscriptions. Doesn't seem like I have time to read back and catch up on everything that's going on anymore.

Anywho... you have a great day, and I'll try to pop in all along. Later...

Morning UR have a great one. Egg production is way down due to the broody hens. Not liking this. It's during the summer that they pay for their feed. I can usually raise the meat birds along with them while they are laying. I hope they get back into routine quickly.

I like atheledemics better more, but as long as I have my fingers and toes... I can count.

Of course, after I'd ordered these eggs, I found out that this breed is male dominated. Just when I thought it couldn't be worse than my Barred Rock ratio... which were 9 boys and 6 girls!

My last two Dominique hatches have been male dominate. First hatch was 4 B 2 G & second hatch was 11 B 3 G so I'm batting 15 boys to 5 girls
