"Springing in the Chicks" 2016 April Hatch-a-Long Hosted by Mike & Sally

Aww congrats! It's so adorable! :love I didn't hear the story what happened?

3 broody chickens sitting on a nest with one egg.  I guess it was too crowded so the egg was pushed out.  It was very cold when we found it.   Didn't think it would make it but we stuck it in the incubator.  It hatched today!

Wow, poor thing. Are you going to put it back with the mamas?

Sounds like a plan to me. And it doesn't sound like your excitement has diminished any either! ;) No problem about those 4 dozen eggs, Sally...I'll take 'em. I've got room in my coop for 2 more chicks, and with my current track record that's all I'll end up with.
:hugs So sorry, Blooie.... Can you get local eggs (ha) next time? IMO they are a whole world easier. :fl -Banti

19 eggs made it into lock down, so they should start hatching sat. we will see!!!

now Maran dark eggs are they the ones that need extra humidity during lock down?

and for the record, I think ALL my hens have decided to go broody except 2,

@Ur-ur-ur-urrr
Thx. It does. Slightly : (
I do however feel a bit chapped still. I may need some cream for that. Ugh.
On my mind is the same thing I mentioned earlier tonight. First hatch. Day 19. One external pip earlier this afternoon. No action on that egg since then. And one internal pip on a second egg. Nothing else there so far. Hours later. Nothing else at all from my meager remaining eggs. I fear losing all six (from my initial 14 shipped of which only 6 made it to lockdown). I am not sure whether I should be freaking out or not. Boo : (
