"Springing in the Chicks" 2016 April Hatch-a-Long Hosted by Mike & Sally

Thanks @DwayneNLiz. Honestly I am feeling low. I'm fairly certain I've screwed the pooch on my first hatch and now I get to count down the days until the poor things' funerals can no longer be ignored. I'm feeling sorry for myself. But way more sorry for the poor babes.

@Ur-ur-ur-urrr
Thx. It does. Slightly : (
I do however feel a bit chapped still. I may need some cream for that. Ugh.
On my mind is the same thing I mentioned earlier tonight. First hatch. Day 19. One external pip earlier this afternoon. No action on that egg since then. And one internal pip on a second egg. Nothing else there so far. Hours later. Nothing else at all from my meager remaining eggs. I fear losing all six (from my initial 14 shipped of which only 6 made it to lockdown). I am not sure whether I should be freaking out or not. Boo : (
From external pip to hatch can take upwards of 24 hrs. What's your humidity at?

Omg so i had chick fever and wanted to get some Speckled Sussex or Wyandottes when they come in or find different color Orpingtons and ohhhh I still do...

But now..

Those TSC chicks are soooo cute.

And we are going to have a whoooooleeeeeee empty coop once this one gets finished that I was going to just toss. And.. well... now THAT would just be a waste.

And even the guy at TSC said to fill it with more chickens!!!

And ANYWAYS.

Well now some certain enablers have turned me onto eBay for hatching eggs...

And let me just say...

Now I have HATCHING fever and want to hatch my own chicks.

Don't know if eBay would be good though, maybe local would be better.

And of course this is all just a dream right now but even my mom said maybe and I say we just simply CAN'T let that coop go to waste, right? Right!?

And it is best suited to a couple absolutely adorable pet bantams.

It must happen...

Simply must.

And I mean, we still have the heating pad from our last MHP plus a heat lamp if we must. Can't let that go to waste either. :p

Somebody tell me this is a bad idea. Convince me not to.

Bad plan..

I just KNOW you ENABLERS on here won't do that thougg and will tell me to get both the bantams AND more large fowl :p

Thanks @BantyChooks
I don't know how to help myself either. Ugh. Maybe the blind leading the blind? No idea except I worry all my six will end DIS and I just can't stand it. Yes I'm a crybaby. I know it. I can take it.

I cooked many eggs when I first tried, probably upwards of 6 dozen eggs

I wouldn't be concerned just yet. Once they externally pip, it can take 24 hours before they begin zipping. As long as it's getting fresh air, it'll rest up for the big job of hatching. If nothing has happened in 24 hours, then you should see if it needs any help.
