Hey...what's up?   I have too many too, this friend of mine is taking his home!  Thank goodness.  I may keep a blue, or a Jubilee..or a red cc...lol...if I can only decide.  He said I could keep what I wanted.   Oh dear.  :/

I have two broodies now. I had to move two as the others stopped laying. Back to laying at least today.

I have hatche NN's and SG's. Want some photos? Here goes. I have a smooth SG right now. She took third place in the ugly chicken contest while she was young, but she is cute now! I don't have a recent photo of her..need to get one.

black girl..there is a white SG right next to her. These are older.
I call the black girl Uggums, because she was so homely as a
chick.








I'm looking for my paint...SG..Have to find him!

I have hatche NN's and SG's. Want some photos? Here goes. I have a smooth SG right now. She took third place in the ugly chicken contest while she was young, but she is cute now! I don't have a recent photo of her..need to get one. Here's the little one that took third in the ugly contest..the black girl..there is a white SG right next to her. These are older. I call the black girl Uggums, because she was so homely as a chick. I'm looking for my paint...SG..Have to find him!

Oh yeah... I remember her! Question is.... I have 4 NN x polish eggs in the bator. Is the naked neck gene dominant? Or will I get a fully feathered chook? I have to admit, I don't think the naked part is ummmm "cute" but I have heard enough about their dog-like personality and how underrated they are that I made a snap decision to try them. (That and they are polish x- which is #1 in my dream breed list) Advice? Anything I would need to watch out for? Anyone have pics of NN x polish? Thanks!! -Banti

No photos of a mix like that. I have a couple of polish though. You can get either with a mix like that..so, you may not get a NN. May get a cute little one with a cute little top..not a full like the polish...or...you could get the full cap. You never know. It will be like opening a Christmas present when it hatches. Thing is, if there is not top at first, it still may start showing up once the pin feathers start coming in on the head. That's what happened with my last silkie mix. Cute look.

Ok. Finally a couple pics of the silkie/showgirl/sizzle chicks I am trying to hatch. These two hatched today on day 20. 4 more eggs to hopefully hatch soon.

Soo the little egg that got stuck zipping I decided to pull the top, it was near the edge so barely had to open the bator, then I waited a little while I could tell it was breathing but could only see its back. So after probably 30 min I decided to help further and started peeling the shell very quickly but very gently

Once out seemed sooo happy, put back in the bator to 'stretch-out' will remove in the am, does have a HUGE vaulted skull -Silkies I think this is why it got stuck

Did I do the right thing? I'm so nervous about the other eggs now! The bator wasn't open for more than 5 seconds each time (2x) think it's ok???
