Whew!! So relieved! Now she is in there playing soccer, and just before I helped another one hatched so now there are actually 2 in there playing soccer

for the soccer players.

I would think if it has two fertilization spots that it would be a double yolker. I've never heard of that happening to a single yolk before.

Well its almost hatch day for my first Sapphires, plus some CL/EE, due April 18th! Also I coincided it with my hatchery order of Whiting True Blues, due to ship the week of April 18th so they can grow up together

It is adorable. I had two little girls sit by the incubator and read to the eggs everyday. And the little boy just loved reading to them.

Awesome! I'm so glad the kids got some chicks! I know you put a lot of effort into making certain that they did!

Thank you so much for being so supportive. It was worth every bit of effort. I had about 9 parents in after school tonight, with proud little first-graders showing off their favorite chicks. Two more hatched today, and one hatched 2 minutes before the kids left for the day. They were thrilled!

Your daughter will have so much fun! It is my favorite teaching moment of the year when those kiddos see the first egg hatch. I cry every time because they are so excited!!!!

I know! I ordered just 9 eggs. Figured that would be a nice, manageable number for my first time trying this. @LocalYokel won a dozen hatching eggs on the MPC Giveaway and gifted them to me. Got them and the ones I ordered and there were extras packed in there, bringing the 21 expected to 28.. Then another contest and I won 3 Svart Hona eggs, which I gifted to another member because I had more than enough. Hanging around another contest thread and won another 6 - opened the box and there were 11 in there.

And out of the original 28 eggs, 2 hatched. The other 11 are on day 7. Yeah, I just sit here and eggs happen.

We hatched some Plymouth rocks and some silkies. I wanted to hatch some ameraucanas, but my rooster is not cooperating. He was back today, and he was so excited that we named our little rooster Mikey after him!

So one of my broodies ( i had 3) decided to up and leave her nest today.

She had been off her nest the last few times I checked on her. So i grabbed her eggs and put them in the bator. Tomorrow was supposed to be day 18.

So we will see if she killed them or not. I candled them and they looked ok, but I'm not sure.

I guess we will have to wait and see. I also set 88 more eggs today and I have 24 ordered "crested" breeds arriving this week from Ideal. By next weekend I should be swimming in chicks!!!!!

But I can't help it I love all their fluffy cuteness. We ended up with 7 bantam cochin and 12 LF cochin from last weekends hatch and they are soooo cute!!!

I want a lavender orp pullet so bad.  I tried for them on this hatch & with my first hatch last fall but all cockerels both times. Grrrr!

So I am already beating my ratios from the last time I tried to incubate!! Woohoo!! Not that's all that great lol, 3ish years ago I tried many times to no avail and probably used up 6+ dozen eggs(many expensive but gifted by a dear friend-now deceased) and I hatched 1 we roo, currently I have 3 out and set 41, some clears blah blah blah will do eggtopsies on Monday night to get final score but so far it is an improvement
