springtime post your new chick pics

4 1/2 week old Silkie started to feather out. Look at the little straggle on his head! So cute!
He looks like a little feathered version of Don King!

This is my husband's little WCBP Micro. She was a week old yesterday (and weighed 1oz) and 4 days in this picture. She has grown a bit, but not that much.

They were due on Friday and I was concerned that the batch had been contaminated, but...

We have some babies! Can't wait for morning to see how many have emerged!

These are the 6 Buff Orpington females I ordered from Meyer Hatchery.....Ha Ha ! I saw right off these were actually Black Australorps. A mistake was made....OBVIOUSLY HUH? Well, Meyer offered to " make good" on the Buff Orpys I ordered, but could not do so for another month, so I declined. I don't want to go thru the fragile chick raising again so soon, nor do I want the hassle of integrating new chicks, and I did not build my coop or run for 12 birds. So it looks like I'm an Australorp Daddy....lol

I'm sure I'll be happy with them, although not what I wanted, and paid for. But they'll be good layers, and I love most any breed of chicken. I'm attached to them already. The above chicks are one day old. I figure they were born on the 18th of June. They were shipped VERY well. Arived the next day, custom delivery, and all were/ are very healthy.

Around 2 and a half weeks old.
