Sprouting Grains - Bulk Near Sacramento

I found Oat Groats and Barley with the hulls on at a farmers seed supply in Santa Rosa....maybe Larsen's?
Any way it was a place that supplied farmers with seed to plant.
I got 50# of barley and 50# of oats for $36 total and they sprout quite well ;o)
My best to You,
Greg

Do they sell non organic? The organic feed is too spendy for my chickens taste. And will they sell direct, or do you have to buy from a retailer?

Hi debbiegt,
I bought non organic on 3/9/2015 at Hunt and Beherns, Inc. in Petaluma, Ca. The following bags of grain and pellets.
16% Lay Pellets 80 pounds for $17.87each (about 22.3 cents a pound)
80 pounds of Whole Barley for $17.42 (about 22 cents a pound)
and I don't know why but I bought some Milo to sprout 80 pounds for $18.25 (about 22.8 cents a pound)
I plan to get off my duff and write a quick note about what I'm doing and my production in some detail...Currently it's costing me about 75 cents a day to feed my 12 eight month old hens and they usually produce 10 or 11 eggs daily. I credit it to breed wet feed/sprouts and vinegar in the water ;o)
