I have a 7wk old chick that is starting to grow low spurs. I always pegged this chick as a pullet, but I've noticed it's comb getting a bit darker pink. No wattles yet, which keeps my hope alive! I'm still thinking pullet with my fingers crossed behind my back. Any thoughts on pullets with spurs or gender guesses? Thanks!

That isn't a spur but I'm not sure what it is, it looks like a nail growing. Could you get a picture of the chicken standing so I can sex it properly? I think it's a pullet though.

Looks like she has a fifth toe, just not a fully formed one. What breed/breeds is she?

I'll have to post another picture in a little bit. I'm pretending to work at work right now : )

I actually got these chicks as a barnyard mix. That has made early gender assigning somewhat complicated. I dubbed it as an Easter Egger because of the color patterns and green legs.

Yes it looks like an Easter Egger.

@Chicken Girl1 , here are some pictures of the little gal (I'm still hoping pullet). She was a bit alert as there were 2 hawks squawking above : ) The nail is only on the left. Is the deformity something that I should be concerned about?
