Squatting?

I'm still learning, so please bear with me....
So, I'm waiting for my girls to "squat" before
I can expect eggs? Right now they are still
running from Max and he's not even crowing yet.
Well, he did once. They are 21 weeks.
 
Normally they will squat for you or a rooster before they lay eggs. My last brood however gave me some eggs first. Squatting is a good sign and since you have a rooster and they are still running from him, you probably won't get eggs tomorrow.

Two of mine squatted for me a day before laying that first egg. They also started being more friendly toward the cockerel (although hardly submitting every time!) They haven't squatted since but they are still laying. Another bird has never squatted for me and avoids the cockerel but she has laid an egg.
