Squirrels Eating Eggs!

Thanks for the replies! So I am now keeping the girls in a secured coop most of the day so they have time to lay their eggs. Then I let them out in the yard in the afternoons and pick up their feed and eggs. This plus trapping the squirrels seems to be working!

Great info. I also don’t want to do any harm to the squirrels, they don’t come around when we are out there or the dogs and they don’t bother our chickens...but we could not figure out why are chickens weren’t laying all of a sudden...well a video cam in the coop, showed us that within an hour of the chickens laying their eggs, he came in and helped himself and carried it away with out so much as it cracking! Crazy! I think I will proof the nesting box to protect their eggs...
