Do you have any Oxine? If you don't, Peter sells it and it is amazing stuff. A tiny bit goes a long way. He sells small bottles and it's 10 X better than bleach.

Well, I have an update on my cockerel with a likely injured foot:
Its been almost three weeks since he turned up with a almost completely paralyzed foot. I treated him for 1 week with St. John's Wort; during that time he regained control of his toes, though he still walked on the top of the foot. This caused his leg to splay out somewhat, and it seemed like he was in pain. At this point, I concluded that it probably wasn't Marek's, so I stopped the SJW. I considered splinting the leg, but decided to wait and see.
For a while nothing happened. The cockerel continued to eat, drink, and act normal, even though he favored that foot and walked wrongly on it. I kept him isolated from the other birds, and without a roost in fear of him injuring himself. He seemed to get no better, and it was painful for me to watch him limp solemnly around. Just a few days ago, I decided that I was going to have to cull him--I didn't like seeing him suffer, with no hope in sight.
But this morning, things were different. As I was performing my usual chores in his pen, I was happily surprised to see him walking normally on the foot. He can now spread out the toes, and walk properly most of the time. However, he still reverts to walking on top of his curled toes often, and the foot seems weak from him not using it right for such a long time. Still, it is a sign, I hope, of his foot finally healing. With luck, the foot will get stronger, and he'll focus on walking correctly--he mainly starts walking wrong when he's excited and not concentrating.
No, I didn't/haven't.Do you give him the hemp oil? That would really improve his condition.
I do massage it daily, and make him stand correctly for a few minutes. No, I'm definitely not going to cull him, unless he gets much worse.Have you been soaking it or massaging it? Seems that would help too. He seems well on the way...don't give up!!! Don't cull him!!!
Foot/ leg injuries take a long time to heal.
