Boy Kathy, you went way back on that one! It would really cement this treatment if someone got a PCR (blood) before and after. And could show it. Heck, I think more than one person, maybe 100 people.

There are many diseases/illnesses that have symptoms just like Marek's . That makes it so hard to see if it really works, and that it was really Marek's and the herb caused the symptoms to go away. I have my own thoughts about some treatments out there for Marek's. But one thing is for sure. When it comes to Marek's, I would try anything and everything to please please help. I have so many graves out in the back yard I have to do them in rows because I don't know where I buried many of them. I suffer with every one. It would be nice to have some proven method other than hearsay that can help stop the sadness.
Up to page 45 now, lol. I felt that many of the things said need to be addressed, so I did, lol. So I'm at page 45 and as far as I can tell, not one person has actually confirmed thru medical testing that their bird had Marek's. If I overlooked such a post, I apologize.

Not sure what page it was on, but early on someone did get a vet confirmation.

Best wishes.

I don't believe they had confirmation via some type of testing that the bird was positive for Marek's, and when it died several years later, I think they said it had no tumors, but I don't remember them listing an actual cause of death, which to me means they had just a gross necropsy done by their vet, not an avian pathologist.

Would that be an educated guess by a vet or a pcr by a pathologist?

All I saw and said was that someone had a 'vet confirmation' as per Kathy's question before about whether or not it was confirmed by medical testing. Anyone who wants to know whether or not that was an 'educated guess' has to PM the OP, but I wouldn't be surprised if they've unsubscribed from this thread long ago.

Since Kathy's going through the thread from the start she should know for sure but looking at her response to me it appears not, so perhaps you'll have to go back and check it out more thoroughly if you're interested enough.

Best wishes.

Very few people that have posted here have actually ever had proper necropsies done. And by proper, I mean done by an avian pathologist with testing that includes histopathology and cultures.

Seems that in light of the scientific studies on SJW that I posted, that's irrelevant in the context of this thread.

It's scientifically proven to work against the same issues that cause Marek's and against other neurological symptoms in general.

For the most part this thread is merely people reporting their results in testing it against neurological conditions, including suspected Marek's, and while a few have called it Marek's without testing, most didn't state it as an absolute, and one of them did have a vet confirmation that it was and still had results using SJW.

For further info, you'd need to PM that person and see if they did get actual test results, in their 'vet confirmation'. No amount of asking others is going to find the answer, lol!

While it's valid enough to want proof from anyone explicitly guaranteeing a cure, quite often all we have to go on are experiences, and we have to respect others' experiences even if we have contradictory ones.

There's no worth nor respectability in trying to dismiss others' experiences and repeatedly challenging them to provide proof when they've made it clear that it was just their experience. It'd be terrible if people were silenced by continual demands for proof to support every opinion they have, and stopped discussing experiences, and I dare say that's directly counterproductive to the intent of the forum.

Best wishes.
