I just don't know what to do at this point. She was improving to the point that I was considering putting her in the big tractor today. Then, yesterday, I noticed her a little wavery.
We gave her HP last night, and this morning she's backslid more. Stumbled twice and fell I'm just confused as to why you're supposed to stop the HP once they show improvement. Would it
reverse the recovery process if you use it too long? Seems that it wouldn't, as you can also use it for pain control, from what i've read. Gah.

She's very strong and very bright, so I'm still hoping that she will continue to recover, but it's maddening!

I don't think it'd reverse the recovery process, but I'm quite un-read on homeopathy in general.

If in doubt (and it sounds like you are) possibly try the herb itself. (?) I would, personally. Well, really, do whatever you feel is the best of course (I know that's rather useless sometimes), and good luck.

Best wishes.

Thanks.

Not sure where I'd find it...this time of year. I don't think anyone is real well versed on Homeopathy...it's a mystery to most, from what I've seen. She's much better again today...no sign of anything...after three more treatments with the HP. It's almost like it's something her body's struggling to heal...like an infection...and the HP gives her an extra kick in once in a while. I don't think it IS an infection...but I don't know what it is. Never had a case quite like this one.

But I can't imagine actually that it would reverse healing..after thinking about it..because if that were true, you'd think there'd be some warnings about it on the packaging....

today more slow improvement I put her in the tractor and she flew to a perch. She got dizzy after a minute or two though and had to get down. But she sat on a crate in there under a heat light, (it's still so cold out) and after a bit she was preening and walking around normally. I had given her some Turmeric with Bioperene this morning, instead of vitamins. I think her sudden burst of activity wore her out, and hoping maybe more"pt", a couple hours a day, might help her, as well as the Turmeric. I'm going to add the vitamins to her water. Holding off on giving her any more Hypericum, as I did verify through another source that you're supposed to stop at signs of improvement (at least in people). I will start it up again if she backslides.

Sounds good. Thanks for the updates, looking forward to finding out how it goes. Hopefully well. Sounds like she's relapsing a fair bit, maybe. Leukosis is often cyclic in symptoms but I doubt it's that.

Best wishes.

I don't think it's leukosis, either. I don't know WHAT it is, unless she just has some kind of very mild neuro issue that might always be with her. She's acting almost normal now. Still a touch wobbly. Ran a few steps yesterday, and flew to her perch again. I did the "drop" test again this morning. Perfect landing today, and she acted totally unconcerned.

If she keeps improving the way she has, she may reach freedom road by this weekend., or shortly after.

I think she's dying. I'm having a bad weekend already.

chooks 4 life, I think you are right. I should have kept up with the hypericum. I talked to a friend who's a poultry expert about this, and he said he agreed with you.

Very sorry to hear that.

We're all learning as we go, I know that's probably not much comfort, but you tried and that's the most anyone can do.

Best wishes.
