Starlings

Hi @Heather Q where are you located? I am currently raising 5 little starling nestlings whose nest was torn down without knowing. We thought they were robins at first and did not realize how quickly starlings imprinted on humans and they are all pretty human friendly already and I would love to find them great homes.

I have some available

Contact wildlife rehabbers in your area, they might be able to give you young starlings that they have in their care, preferrably ones that are big enough to feed themselves. I'm actually looking for some as well and extended some feelers to wildlife rehabilitation places in my area with varying degrees of success. At least one person told me they'd get back to me if they had any. It's not really nesting season yet for them where I live.

Raising baby songbirds is difficult and I think it'd be cruel to take one from a nest unless you were absolutely 100% beyond a doubt sure that you could raise it to adulthood.
:thumbsup This is the best idea, yet!

are starling good pets? What the price range on them
They arent Domesticated or even widely kept enough so there’s no one specific price but honestly they have similar talking abilities to budgies and similar care needs to sugar gliders so…. $25-55?

Can anyone in Southern IN rescue this lil guy? My friend found a starling and the local wildlife place won't take it except to euthanize it. Any takers????
