Had a FABULOUS conversation with a long time poultry breeder and successful exhibiter (bantams: White Rocks, RIR, and Buff Cochins) today. Bumped into him quite by accident through a random professional association quite unrelated to chickens. Conversation on the phone was TOO long. Quite serendipitous. Between him and the book (and the other bits I have managed to absorb so far,) I feel like I'm FINALLY formulating a plan that might get me somewhere useful. Fingers crossed!

Even though he doesn't work with the breeds I do, I have NO doubt the advice he gave me is 100% sound. You just never know where the pearls are going to appear.
