Started my chicken coop today!!!! Pic Heavy (maybe)

Regarding the Home Owner's Insurance... FUN reading the fine print at 2:eek:o am when one can't get to sleep. They list loop holes upon loop holes to get out of paying a claim. I have a hydronic heating system in our passive solar 3039 sq. ft. house. A 50 gal 100,000 BTU propane water heater located in the boiler room over the 2nd floor ( as on the 3rd floor 12 feet straight up from the 2nd floor) set at 130 degrees. It sends the 130 deg. water into the heat exchange unit that sends the heat to the rooms and returns 110 degree water back into the water heater. You guessed it, the propane gas cumbustion chamber cracked and was sending carbon monoxide into the house. The Insurance company refused claim pointing out that they exclude this type of system as a steam system which is specifically excluded. MY cost as of yesterday ... The Insurance company sent out 1st Heating/Air conditioning guy who couldn't figure out system, sent 2nd A/C guy ... incompetant, said it was an electrical problem... 3rd A/C says it is a plumbing problem ... plumber can't find a 50 gal 100,000 BTU Polaris water heater , but can install another brand ... installed a Bradford/ White 50 gal. but ONLY 30,000 BTU... nowhere near able to produce heat for the house, second plumber tried to rip us off by $ 3,400 ... 3rd plumber got the Polaris water heater from Tennasee ( wer'e in Cal) job done for $4,638.74 for the water heater plus $ 970 for labor. and no heat or hot water since Dec. 4,to last Wednesday 6:45 pm. Enjoy !!!

The coop is not "attached" to the house it is free standing just put up back in the cut of the house it has four walls. and we are in the country and there aren't a lot of codes to abide by here. we live in a seasonal campground.

Nesting boxes so far........need a little fine tuning and detail yet, little to "rough" for me.

Where did you find that guy. It took a lonnnnnnng time to get mine done. I mean a long time. Too ashamed to admit how long. I sure does look nice.

I have about 20 chickens now they are all making a huge mess in my garage right now patiently awaiting their house to be finished. LOL

My guy really was determined to get this done because he has to go back to work tom. his boss gave him three days off to build the coop!

This is almost done DH went to hardware store to get hinges to put the door on, and then we will put on a little ramp up to the porch and then just little stuff like trim around the window. I would like to have a window box on the outside of the window.
