Started the new coop build

So, rain stopped and I got out to cut the yard, all the hens in the run... finished mowing after dark, after locking everything up I went to check on the girls... All the new birds are in one nesting box all huddled together and all the hens are on the perch except 1, my cinimon queen "Cinny" is in the run still just hunkered down? Not sure why she isnt in the coop as her space is open on the perch and not crowded? She is just laying in the mud like no care in the world?

They can be weird like that.

One time I had a pair of "teenage" Brahmas who were staying out late for some last tasty forage. When they suddenly realized that they couldn't see to get into the coop they started crying in distress and I had to rescue them and put them in.

Coop came to a standstill before we went on vacation since wrong fencing was delivered, still waiting on the right stuff now that we are back. Had my neighbor to collect and keep the eggs while we were gone ( and the water/feed was filled before ) so it was all self suffiecient until we returned. Today I picked up 4 barrels to expand the water supply in the new build, going to get another for feed as well but need one with a removable locking lid.

Today I got the fence stretched and secured, not sure if its going to get done soon as Im having surgery in a few weeks which will put me out of commission for a few months afterwards. Trying to get the garden in as well but looks like that wont happen either... Only 4 trees left in the garden area. Next is to make the gate and nest boxes.... sucks not having help.

got the pinch boards on and nesting box door completed. Gate, nesting boxes and enclose front of coop is all thats left. Once I get the gate on I can move them in while I plumb the water into the coop. And should I add a door knocker?

Temps cooled down a bit but still hot 99 cloudy and a bit of rain.... I got the last side framed and covered, adding the siding and door tomorrow ad well as make the nesting boxes to complete the coop. Called chipdrop and should have the mulch for the coop run and garden soon. I need to add the feeder holes to the new barrels and move the water drum over then the girls are ready for their new home. Oh, and I need to cut them an access door, trying to decide if just make it in the door itself or separate ?
