My incubator is a forced air - I think. It is a Brinsea mini - with a fan.
And, great news!!!! FOUR chicks hatched while I was out of town over the weekend. I'll share pics soon.
Okay, I am officially on lock-down for my incubator eggs. I am all set up. The humidity has jumped to 68% with the washcloth I put in. Should I keep it at 68% or should it be higher? I keep hearing about drowned chicks and I don't want to do that but I also hear so many get shrink-wrapped and I don't want that either. This is the stressful part for me.
First one out. Sadly, this one has an extremely severe cross beak and is missing an eye. I'm hoping this was caused by the fact that the egg came from a hen who was hatched from trader joes eggs, and not because my beautiful incubator screwed up. I'd post pics... But is a little graphic.![]()
really a few days will make that big a difference---- I wonder if I put them in the incubator for their lock down if I can save them??? Hmmmmm![]()
well that happens I've found a couple of extra eggs woth her and i have removed them cause they wont hatch even iff they form after a couple of days she will stop sitting on them and if they do hatch the older chicks migth kill them
