hey friends! my dwarf bantam hen recently started getting broody again after failing to hatch her previous clutch. And she’s started to lay a new clutch to sit on, and i want to make sure her hatch this time will be successful so how can i assure that and could you guys give me some tips on whole process & setting up a safe nesting box for her? and she’s quite small so will there be an issue when it comes to heating her eggs?

Hi there. Your profile doesn't give your location, so if it's hot like Phoenix then this isn't the time to let her hatch.

It's best if you can only let her sit on as many eggs as she can cover, otherwise some may not stay at temp.

Is she in a community nest box or what's your set up? Pics of your coop would help.

Hi, thanks for the response! I live in Bangkok Thailand so yes it is most definitely hot here, given what you said how can i snap her out of being broody?

Thanks for the tip i’ll try that when the weather seems more favorable!

And as for her nesting it’s really late here so i’ll try to get a picture in the morning but i’ll best try to describe it - right now i have only two chickens a roo and a hen and they get along quite well so i let them stay together. I have a netted up metal cage with a wooden stick stand- she used to stay there but since she got broody she independently found a painting tray in my yard to lay her eggs in and she’s started sitting on two eggs as of yesterday so i put a old cloth under her eggs for now.

I looked up your temps and it's really not too bad so she may do ok. Around 100 degrees with a nest outside should be fine, I had a broody hatch in those temps in an outside nest with no problems.
