Starting out as a duck mama

Oh hey, just some random questions.

One, *my* ducks do not dive in the creek. I see little bitty ones diving and bobbing with their butts sticking out as they do, but mine never do. Is that something their mama would have taught them?

Also, if I haven't seen my ducks in the morning by afternoon when I see them waiting for me by the creek they run to me as fast as they can and act as if they are starving and scarf down the food as fast as possible. I know they eat bugs and stuff on their own so not sure if they are just really excited or what? Lol
 
They are probably hungry and happy to see you. Giving them feed helps them have a balanced diet along with all they find out side. As for diving I see mine diving but no butts up in the air like I’ve seen other ducks do. Not sure if that’s learned or instinct.
