After thinking about it overnight, I'm going to use hardware cloth over the stall bars instead of the 1" hex chicken wire. I really want them to be extra safe at night. I am still going to use the chicken wire on the fence outside for the run. Will a 12" depth be good enough to keep out diggers? They'll be locked in each night, so if something got through the run, it still wouldn't get through the door. I'm not worried about anything during the day, our barn cats do a great job.
