the pupils could have dilated after you blew its head in half, but don't quote me on it. And no, it's not a rat snake. I play with them (don't judge me, lol) all the time, all ages and sizes. The head shape is wrong, and I have never seen that pattern before. Look for an indentation between the nose and eye, like a little pit.
