SteamPunk????????

I was a costumer in a previous life....before I got into chickens.....and dabbled a bit in the Steampunk genre. This was the outfit I wore to D*C '09 as the Steampunk Tailor:

This is soooooo freakin awesome... I am sooo jealuos .. I am gonna have to try toss together some goodwill junk and make a costume....

Fantastic pics St-Hubert! Coop I want to see your pics too! Don't forget when you are watching movies to throw in Firefly. It's a little more a wild west version of steam punk, but would have some good ideas.

Thank you both. I had a lot of fun in that....and there were something like 200+ Steampunk folk gathered in one spot for photos one night. Quite a collection.

I am also a Browncoat (fan of Firefly), and while there are some elements of Steampunk in the costuming and props, It's much more Sci-fi than Steampunk. Mal's sidearm makes a good Steampunk pistol, though....worn mine for that once or twice.

Oh man, you should have never started this topic... now you've got me on a fascinating research trip...
Like I need any more distractions! Gah, but it's been fun snooping!

Saddina that is brilliant... how cool would it be if the whole family dressed FF for Hallow's Eve?

Ohh hoo hoo hoo (think Tigger) this is going to be FUN!

Hubert I LOVE your gauntlet, that is beyond cool. Did you make them or did you find them?

The only things I didn't make that I'm wearing are the boots and the hat and some of the accesories (the scissors, needles, folding iron, etc). I modified a felt cowboy hat (two days with a steamer and a hat block....oy!), but I really need to buy an honest-to-goodness top hat to complete the look.
The gauntlet is leather....hang on, I think I have a better photo or two of it somewhere....

I also made an outfit for my wife (Airship Pirate Queen), but she's not all that keen on having her photos posted online. I'll see if I can ask her about posting one or two.
